Manakish

Manakish which is basically a kind of flat bread baked with Zaatar and olive oil spread over it.







Manakish
How to make 

500g bread flour
10g salt
5g dried yeast
320ml/g water
50g olive oil
1/2 cup za’atar mixed with enough olive oil to make it into a paste.
Put the oven on at 250C.  Mix the flour, salt and yeast,  add the water and olive oil and bring together. Knead until smooth.  Leave to sit for an hour or so , then divide into 10 balls and let them sit for a further 10 minutes.  Flatten and roll with a rolling pin so it’s nice and thin.  spread  zaatar and olive oil on the base is cook it for 10 minutes.  Eat hot or cold 


Labne is a greek  stained yogurt , put the yogurt in a cloth and let it stain for a few hours , add some salt an is ready to eat with the manakish .
